Description of Side City Tour

In-Side City Tour Turkey, Side, a coastal city in Turkey, was established by the ancient Greeks around the 7th century BC. This city, notable for its expansive harbour, served as a crucial hub for trade and culture. It was also a place where enslaved individuals were traded openly. However, in the eighth century, it faced destruction at the hands of the Arabs. Over time, the remnants of Side gave rise to a quaint fishing village known as Selimiye.

This village has since undergone significant modernization in its infrastructure, transforming into a popular destination for tourists. Despite these modern advancements, several historical ruins remain accessible for exploration. Among these are the temples dedicated to Apollo and Athena, the Vespassina fountain, an ancient Amphitheater, the agora (a combination of a state and market square), as well as remnants of baths, hospitals, and streets adorned with columns, showcasing the rich history of the area.
