Here is some information about the visiting places in Alanya:

Alanya Castle:

A significant historical site is Alanya Castle (Alanya Kalesi). The fortification is situated on a rocky peninsula that extends far out to sea. About 6.5 kilometres of walls make up the whole length. One hundred forty towers make up the fortress’s construction. The Alanya port is reached by walls that descend the slope on the east side. The castle is situated on a rock that rises to a maximum height of roughly 250 meters. The fortification was largely constructed in the 13th century.

One of the city’s top historical attractions is the “Red Tower” (Kızıl Kule). One of the city’s emblems is the octagonal tower made of red brick (in 1992 – 2005 tower was depicted on Turkish banknotes). The tower is close to Alanya’s historical shipyard and waterfront. In 1226, the tower’s construction was finished. The tower has a diameter of 29 meters and a height of approximately 33 meters. Currently, the tower houses a museum.

In Alanya, a shipyard was constructed in 1228. Currently, one of Alanya’s attractions is the shipyard. The shipyard is situated near the “Red Tower” on the waterfront. You may easily reach the “Old Shipyard” by strolling past the “Red Tower” as you leave the port.

Dalmatash Cave:

The Dalmatash Cave (Damlataş Maaras) is situated approximately 100 meters from the shore in the city’s central area on the western side of the peninsula. One of Alanya’s tourist attractions is the cave (the cave is specially equipped for the convenience of tourists). Nearly 22 degrees Celsius are present, with a humidity level of 90 to 98 per cent.

The cave entrance is south of the Archaeological Museum at the intersection of streets Damlatas Caddesi and Sultan Alaaddin Caddesi, which is close to the eastern side of the seashore (which lies west of the fort).

Cleopatra Beach:

Near the Damlatas cave, Dalmatash Beach (Damlataş) is situated on city property to the west of the peninsula and the citadel of Alanya (one of the attractions of the city). The beach and the sea’s entry are both sandy and inviting for swimming. The historic stronghold and the rocky peninsula can both be seen beautifully from the shore. Cleopatra, the Egyptian Queen, is said to have taken a bath here.

West of the city’s historic district, close to the city centre, is where you’ll find Cleopatra Beach. The Dalmatash beach continues into the seashore. The Dalmatash beach includes Cleopatra Beach (in some sources, Dalmatash beach is named as part of the beach of Cleopatra). The nicest and busiest beach in Alanya is sometimes referred to as Cleopatra Beach. About 2 kilometres make up the length of this sandy beach.

Cable Car:

As we leisurely soar over the historic city, the Alanya cable car is an excellent way to cap out this excursion. The cable is around 900 meters long and runs from the castle to Cleopatra’s beach. This is the ideal way to round off your trip as the sun sets and the city is bathed in the warm glow of the early evening.

Return back:

At the conclusion of the cable car journey, the bus will be there to pick you up and drive you back to your accommodation in Alanya.

Full day trip, if you are not that fit or not that good on your feet then avoid the cable car experience, which involves a lot of steps! Overall good trip and would I would recommend it.

Be prepared to spend at least half a day on the mountain. There is SO much to do and see, from the archeological sites to the colorful market to the stunning stone mosque. We left with some great memories and a hundred+ pictures from here! A fancy dinner overlooking Cleopatra Beach is also an option, for an extra slow sunset dinner you’ll need to get in early to find a table…

Fantastic sights of Alanya!
The tour guide seemed very erudite and shared some great stories. The sights were amazing! Seeing the sunset from the I Love Alanya sign was a great end to a great trip.
The only problem we had was that the driver didn’t speak English but it was quickly solved by our guide fella who spoke pretty well
